Always check the FCA Register before dealing with a firm — and beware “clone” firms using a real firm’s details. New to this? See our Firm Checker guide.
Complaints about Debt Advice Foundation
If something has gone wrong, you have a clear, free route to put it right.
1. Complain to the firm
Contact the firm first, explaining what went wrong. It has up to 8 weeks to give a final response.
2. Know your rights
Firms must handle complaints fairly and treat you fairly under the FCA’s Consumer Duty.
3. Escalate free
Not satisfied? Refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service, normally within 6 months of the final response.
